Winter Activities
Crystal Mountain Ski Area offers world class terrain for Skiing and Snowboarding . Crystal Mountain and adjacent Mt. Rainier National Park offer limitless winter recreational opportunities. In addition to the best skiing terrain, Crystal Mountain is great for snowshoeing , cross country skiing , mountaineering, snowmobiling and much more. All are within close access of our facilities. For those just seeking out a winter wonderland experience, Crystal Mountain is surrounded by wilderness - both Mt. Rainier National Park and US Forest Service areas offer over 250,000 acres of wilderness.
Skiing and
Snowboarding:
Crystal Mountain Ski Area provides some of the best terrain offered at a lift accessed area. For advanced skiers and snowboarders, the mountain when blessed with a fine dressing of powder is heaven. Skiing Magazine ranked Crystal Mountain 9th in North America for Backcountry access. Family and intermediate runs abound hereas well at Crystal Mountain. Wide, perfectly groomed runs, are well supervised for everyone's enjoyment and safety.
Snowshoeing:
A great alternative for those with several days at the mountain or for someone looking for a different pace, Snowshoeing is a sport everyone can do. If you can walk you can snowshoe. Crystal has endess places to explore and take in breathtaking mountain scenes. (There are snowshoe rentals located on premises at Left Angle Demo Shop located in the Alpine Inn.)
Cross Country Skiing:
Crystal Mountain is located adjacent to Mt Rainier National Park and its entrance is closed off in the winter. This makes an ideal setting to log in lots of miles alongside the White River with its gigantic trees covered in snow. No groomed trails are available in the area unfortunately.
Snowmobiling:
Many areas close to the mountain are available for snowmobiling in the sno parks. You can get your pass on your way up at the forest service station in Enumclaw or Wapiti Woolies in Greenwater.
Hiking:
There's always a serene hike in the fresh alpine air to let you know you've gotten away from it all. There are plenty of places to hike in the Crystal Mountain basin which include waterfalls, alpine meadows and of course plenty of breathtaking mountain views.
Shopping
Visit the best handmade hats made at the Wapiti Woolies gift store. The shop stocks everything from backcoutry ski accessories to home furnishings. Starbucks lattes and baked goods make it even more cozy. Greenwater Outfitters offers outerwear and Snowboard hard goods. Right Angle at the base of Crystal Mountain, is a full service ski shop as well.
